WHAT ARE CONCRETE BLOCKS USED FOR?
The most common uses for concrete blocks are: building walls for
garages, basements, crawl spaces and commercial buildings.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PAVING
STONES AND RETAINING WALL STONES, OR BLOCKS AND FLAGSTONES?
1. Paving Stones: Paving bricks, or patio blocks, are typically
man-made of colored concrete or clay brick. Various dimensions,
and random sizing are available in a variety of textures, patterns
and colors
2. Retaining Wall Stones: Retaining wall stones or blocks are man-made
concrete units available in various sizes and colors and are used
to support landscape elevations, for example, to prevent erosion
or to level and extend uneven landscapes. They are also used to
retain raised flower beds if so desired.
3. Flagstone: Flagstone is created from naturally occurring, quarried
rock by splitting or slicing off thin, (1/4” to 1/2”
) irregular shapes. Flagstone is primarily used for walk-ways or
patios.
WHAT IS NATURAL STONE AND HOW DOES IT
COME?
Ludington Concrete Products carries a large variety of natural stone
products. Natural stone occurs in, where else, nature and is quarried
to be used in a number of ways. The stone is delivered to Ludington
Concrete Products on pallets and is pre-cut into various sized.
Clients then have the opportunity to view the stone, pick out the
pieces and either have us deliver them or take the stone with them.
There are two ways we weigh the stone for you: either by the pound
or by the ton.
WHAT IS AGGREGATE?
Aggregate is formed when large rocks are crushed leaving a mix of
small, (up to 1”-1/2”), stones and sand. Aggregate is

and will be determined before the delivery is made. Currently small

over 15 miles, add $2 a mile one-way.
